Message from the Rector of the University of Gadjah Mada
Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc., Ph.D.

I am very proud to introduce the University of Gadjah Mada briefly to readers. Established in 1949 in the city of culture and education city of Yogyakarta, Gadjah Mada University is the largest university in Indonesia and to some of the best ranking. Since its establishment, UGM is a place to learn the younger generation who came from various regions in Indonesia with local cultural and language respectively.
 
In line with the internationalization program, foreign students at UGM is also growing. In addition because we have a dual-degree program with some of the leading universities in the world, we also accept foreign students through a variety of programs for various activities. This makes the learning atmosphere in UGM was the Indonesian national and international at the same time.
 
With the wealth of existing disciplines at Gadjah Mada University, students have a choice of courses that are many and varied. This also provides an opportunity for students to enrich knowledge, experience and approach to interdisciplinary research at the University of Gadjah Mada.
 
Not only the students, researchers, professors, industry and other institutions that want to collaborate with UGM also find a wealth of disciplines at UGM. In addition to more than 200 courses, UGM also has more than 25 study centers. Our extensive experience of cooperation with other educational institutions, research institutions, governments, non-governmental organizations and industry, making us able to facilitate intensive cooperation.
Comfort and support facilities at the campus is also supported by a conducive campus environment. Located in Yogyakarta, which is a city rich educational heritage rich in history and cultural heritage, the students as well as researchers and guest lecturers will also acquire the enrichment of knowledge and experience. In addition to the Kraton, the location of the campus is also quite close to two prominent temples in the world, namely Borobudur and Prambanan.
